Check your Facebook version Check that you have the latest version of Facebook installed, which at the time of this writing is 1.9.10. To find the version, open the Facebook app and press the Menu key then About. If you don’t have the latest version, head to the Google Play Store and see if the update is available for your device.
Enable Photo Sync on Mobile App Now that you’re set, go back to the Facebook main screen and hit the Menu Key again. This time go to Settings.
Next tap on Sync Photos.
A pop-up lets you choose which connections you prefer to use when syncing: Wi-Fi or cellular, or both.
That’s it! Your phone will automatically sync camera photos to a private Facebook album visible only to you. If you take high resolution photos and want to retain the quality, select Sync in High Resolution over Mobile.
Wait a few minutes and you’ll get a notification on your status bar that Facebook is syncing photos. When this is done, you can tap on the notification to go to your photos page. You’ll see a new tab below that says Sync. Tap on this to see all synced photos.
One disadvantage is that you can only delete photos from the mobile app but not share them –- this feature is exclusive to the website only. Share synced photos Log in to your Facebook account on the web and a notification of recently synced photos comes up. Click on it to view all photos. You can edit and share photos from here. The interface is similar to uploading a new album, and shouldn’t be too confusing if you’re familiar with Facebook.
Select photos by clicking on them. You now have choices to either share, send or delete them. These photos will not be visible to anyone but you unless your share them.
This new feature is apparently on a testing phase, so you may experience some issues along the way. In my case, syncing was quick and painless. If you encounter problems syncing, check that you have a decent internet connection and that each photo is less than 15 MB. Have you tried this yet? How did it go? Tell us on the comments below!
